What Is a Query Letter?
A query letter is your introduction to our acquisitions team. It is your opportunity to briefly present yourself, your manuscript, and why your story may be a good fit for Twisted Words Publishing.
Think of your query letter as a professional cover letter—not a full synopsis or an explanation of your writing journey. A strong query letter is clear, concise, and gives us enough information to determine whether we'd like to continue reading.
Most query letters are approximately one page in length.
What to Include
Please include the following information in your query letter:
Manuscript Information

Genre

Approximate word count

Whether the manuscript is a standalone novel or part of a series. If it is part of a series, please include the series name and any relevant details.
Book Pitch
Write a brief pitch (1–3 paragraphs): Introduce your protagonist, the central conflict, and what makes your story unique. Your goal is to intrigue the reader—not summarize every event or reveal the ending.
Your pitch should answer the following questions:

Your pitch should capture the heart of your novel without revealing every plot twist or the ending. Think of it as the description you might find on the back cover of a book.
Author Bio
Include a short paragraph introducing yourself.
You may include:

Relevant education or credentials

Social media (preferred) or author website (optional)
If this is your first novel, that's perfectly acceptable. We welcome debut authors and evaluate every submission based on the strength of the manuscript.
